FANTASTIC MR FOX MOVIE REVIEW.

The movie fantastic Mr Fox was written by a British author Roald Dahl and was published 1970. In 2009, it was adapted as a movie by Wes Anderson. The movie took place in the Valley, near three big farms. There was a fanciful fox named Mr Fox, who lives with his wife and four children underground beside a tree. He steals food each night from the three mean and wealthy farmers to feed his family. The farmers are: Boggis, who was a chicken farmer, and enormously fat. Bunce who was a ducks and goose farmer, and pot-bellied dwarf. Bean, who was a turkey and apples farmer, and he was thin as a pencil. So the farmers decided that the thieving fox must die therefore they came up with a plan to hunt down and kill him. Unfortunately they didn’t get him but instead shoot his tail.

The movie contain the same characters and uses some of the lines in the book, but the movie is not an effective adaptation of the book. Mr Fox steals from the farmers to feed and support his wife and four children in the book though in the movie Mr Fox is the changed thief who writes for the local paper and his wife is opposed to his thieving thing. In the book Mr Fox is the father of four children, and in the movie he is a father of one. There’s a character named Kristofferson who plays a major role in the movie but not mentioned even once in the book. In the book there was great feast dinner after Mr Fox, Badger and the smallest fox came from the tunnel of the three farmers to steal but in the movie before the feast start they were blustered by cider. In the book, it end with the big feast for the Fox and his underground friends while the three horrid crooks are waiting for fox out, conversely in the movie the animals decided to fight back and burn the entire town with fire.

My favourite part in the movie is when Mr Fox brings back the food for his family and underground friends this shows that animals are friendly and caring to each other. I would recommend this movie to all animal lovers’ people except for young children. From my point of view I don’t think the book is suitable for young children because there is a lot of violence and crime, since children learn through observing this is not the good movie to be exposed to, they will grow up thinking stealing to provide for your family is good.

MY SCHOOLING AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY.

It is very disappointing to see how slowly SA is developing in terms of technology especially in rural schools. It is very paramount to introduce ICT (Information and Communication Technology) to children at younger age to improve their knowledge and learning. The teaching and learning will improve in terms of communication of learners and teachers. ICT is vital for the future of learners as it will prepare them to be creative in workplace.
Teachers as researchers or lifelong learners they are the ones expected to come up with different information as well as learning styles, so ICT is the easiest way to be exposed to dissimilar information. Some of the educators they are not fully committed to their work and they grouchy about hard work of ICT. According to hew and Brush “Most of the teachers are complaining to prepare to using ICT i.e. they have to review website, internet”. On the other hand, some instructors have strong desire for ICT just that they come across many barriers. According to Etrmer, the barriers are divided into two categories namely: intrinsic and extrinsic barriers.
Some of the extrinsic barriers are lack of confidence of educators, lack of resources, lack of competence and intrinsic barriers are attitudes, beliefs, confidence and resistance. Approximately of the barriers that are most common in rural areas in SA is lack of resources in the classroom even though in some urban areas there are resources only to find they are limitation on how to use them. Luckily the urban areas that have the resources you will find that they are sponsored by companies such as Vodacom.

My schooling and technology experience, when I look back during my high school years we were suffering with technology, we didn't have even lights in case we want extra lessons or maybe to study overnight. Most of the time we used textbook or some notes given by educator we have to copy them from the chalkboard. Hopefully soon there will be changes.

My final school year at Hluzingqondo Senior Secondary School which is located in Mpumalanga Province.
Hluzingqondo Secondary School is located in Kwaggafontein “a”. Kwaggafontein is a rural area which is under Thembisile Hani Municipality in Nkangala District. Unlike other rural areas Kwaggafontein is developing, as they are clinics and a public library. It is situated around KwaNdebele Community. I completed my matric in the year of 2013. I was doing Science scream including Languages, Physical sciences,  Agricultural sciences, Life sciences and Mathematics.
My favourite subject was Life Sciences because it deals about the study of life or living organisms, the theories that are proven by the scientists. Unfortunately in my previous school there were no educational technology that was used during our lessons, except for the Principal and the Clerk in the office. There was only one printing machine that was used by educators only, to  print our notes and reports.
Most of the time, we used to copy notes from the chalkboard that is written by the instructor. There was no library in my school, if we were given assignment research, I have to go to the public library. Imagine more than ten school learners going to a same library, sometimes you’ll return home without getting enough information or research for the sake of other pupils to also get information since the library closes at 4pm.

MY PERSONAL REFLECTION ON SERVICE LEARNING EVENT.
1.1 Service learning is an approach to teaching and learning in which students uses academic knowledge and skills to address genuine community needs or is teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience and teach civic responsibility.
1.2 Yes, service learning is a valuable pedagogy to include in a teacher education programmed because its effects on the interpersonal development and the ability to work with other people. Again it’s influenced the developments of leadership and communication skills.
2.1. Process entails your own reflection on your practices. Operation performed on a given set of data.
2.2. Describing what happened.
I together with my group members has start by drafting the plan down. Organizing who will be responsible for particular job or duty. I was responsible for decoration ensuring that the colours are bright enough to attract the learner’s interest. The games we have planned were relevant to the Grade R pupils. Simple, straight and forward. They were no difficult rules that will confuse the scholars.
The most game that the learners has enjoy is the darts game. The pupils couldn’t stop throwing the balloon using darts. Some even cried saying they didn’t get a chance to throw. Some didn’t get second chances since we have five different games to introduce within short period of time. Most of the pupils while playing other games were not focused by facing on the darts game, but I thought that scholars have enjoy all the games.
Analyzing why it happened.
Through my analysis I realize that the children adore the balloon a lot that’s why they were staring at the balloon game and we were given short time in such a way that the pupils while they enjoying certain game before they get another chances, we have to move to another game because at the end of the event we must have played all the games as we presented them by so doing we stick to our original plan.
 Theorizing to improve my practice.
Next time we must focus on the time slot. Combine it with our plan games and present few games that we will be able to conduct within a short period of time. If we have approach the service learning textbook we will get that doing service learning it not all about introducing many things but introducing few things and what pupils gain from those games as well as ourselves.
Acting to test my theory in practice.
This DATA process will help me in the future not to make same mistake again and learn from my mistake. It also helps a lot when coming to reflect on my project to see whether they have went well or not.

MY CHOICE FACTOR.
I am a future foundation phase teacher. I have enrolled for a teaching qualification because my former teachers had passionate and love for their work, they treat every kid equally despite of your background, that has inspired me. I’m wishing to return the favor they did to me. To there kids who still require parents love, Ill be there to give them love, have empathy for them and at the same time provide a good positive role model to the learners who don’t have any. I have choose this career because of vocational calling that i want to fulfill despite the salary i will get. My wish is to make a different in my community and as well my country. Since there’s a shortage of teachers in South Africa. All in all I want to help people and to attempt positive in our next generation. My goal is to teach the whole person e.g. cognitive, emotional, affective and human behavioural dimension of human being. I promise to be a caring teacher. Eister (2002) avers that teaching is a caring exercise.

From my point of view the process of teaching and learning it progressing slowly and different. The reason being that learners are different and they grasp information in different ways. Pupils have different intelligence some prefer learning through listening to music, some through reading and talking, some through looking, some through social interaction and so forth, according to Howard Garder (1983). Meaning every person need a different style or method of learning. As a future educator i will work hard to observe the pupils and make a lesson plan before going to the class so that i can accomodate all learners.

Personally I desire myself as a hard worker. Having all the requirement needed such as skills and information appropriate for instructing learners. I’ll be responsible for teaching in the school and fully engage lessons and activities. Since learners will spend large shunk of their time with me. Almost seven hours a day, five days a week. On the other hand, I’ll play role of caregiver in situation such as physical, emotional and intellectual support for the pupils. To motivate and encourage it what i will do on daily bases. The routine i will use to encourage learners to succeed in their task, by giving rewards to the best performers to keep the behaviour recurring and punish those who broke the classroom rule to stop the behavior to continuing as B.F. Skinner(1979:168) confirm that theory. I believe this routine will lead my students to good performance. Pupils get bored so easily and fast. Learners learn better through playing  so I’ll come up with activities that are different so that they can learn best. Always I’ll demostrate good example to children, because child learn through imitation, acccording to Bandura(1997). I’ll be positive with the learners instead of telling them were they are wrong with their work, I will focus more on what they do good.

Learners should do the following: Contribute to moderate activities, demostrate their knowlegde and understanding. Learners are required to engaged actively in learning all the time. They must work hard in their studies. It is required of them to review their own learning through self assessment.
I want learners to be good future leaders. I’ll create a safe and comfortable environment for pupils cause its vital for them to feel safer,  without secure of atmosphere learning cannot take place. As a teacher I’ll ensure that their ideas are valued all the time. I will trust them so that they succeed. It is difficult for a learner to learn while starving. As a responsible teacher I’ll take care of them and always show them that I care about their personal well being. I’ll ensure that I ask open-ended question, teach them about life curriculum, so that I will found what’s vital to them.  I’ll have sense of humor and have that fine within the environment of learning that will make me to do better. Letting learners being leaders doesn’t mean that they are famous but they are given the opportunities to show their leadership skills were they excel and passionate.

I believe that student can learn, as a teacher it is my responsibility to ensure that learners develop into their fullest potential. As a training teacher but tomorrow I would be the successfull one I believe that learners are capable of learning, gathering information, understanding complex material, posing and solving problems, according to Irvine (1997). I’ll always be a caring and a concern teacher. I’ll be involved on pupils purposeful academic supporting as its my duty. The most core point is that I’ll be committed in helping learners.
The purpose of my document is to illustrate my philosophy. When I live the class after teaching I want learners to remember me as an educator: Who cared about them and valued their opinion. That I’ve created the environment in the classroom that inspired and encourages them to be responsible individual.
